However, it seems that the untitled Breath of the Wild sequel will feature a similar playable area to the original. In an interview with Game Informer's Brian Shae, Aonuma explained that the team isn't quite finished uncovering the mysteries of the world they created back in 2017. Aonuma: One of the reasons we wanted to create a continuation was because I wanted to revisit that Hyrule again and use that world again, while incorporating new gameplay and new story. Aonuma also confirmed in the same interview that Hidemaro Fujibayashi, Breath of the Wild's director, would be coming back to lead the sequel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fr1Z07AV00 Nintendo teased the untitled sequel in its E3 2019 Nintendo Direct, closing out the showcase with a dark and mysterious trailer featuring the series' two main characters, Link and Zelda.
